Configuring Outpost Firewall to Work With PestPatrol

The following Outpost Firewall adjustments may be configured to the user’s requirements, or preferences, and will not impact a PestPatrol update.

Simple Configuration: When PestPatrol try to connect to the internet. Outpost Firewall will pop up a message window and ask you to take action. Please select the "Create rules using preset - Browser" and then click the "OK" button.

Advance Configuration: If outpost dose not pop up message. You can configure Outpost Firewall manually.

1. Go to the application setting in outpost. See Figure 2.

2. Browse to add PestPatrol into the application list. By default, PestPatrol will put at C:\Program Files\CA\eTrust PestPatrol, please select the PPV5Updater.exe and then click "OPEN". See Figure 3.

3. Double click the PPV5Updater and then Click "New" to create new firewall rule.

4. Tick "Where the specified protocol is" , "Where the specified direction is" , "Where the specified remote port is" and "Allow it". Click on blue test in the Rule Description and assign. TCP , Outbound and HTTP as shown below.
